Third-Eye mirror problem
sorry if this is covered elsewhere, I did a search and got too many responses to review...
My mirror is falling off of it's mounting when I turn my head. Just the little round mirror part. I have the helmet mounted version, and the mount and the arm stay put, but the mirror just goes flying.
I have considered wrapping the end of the arm with a little thread, to tighten the hold. anybody have any better ideas?

Third-Eye mirror is plastic. I had one and did not hold up well either after sometime. Now I use the Take-A-Look mirror. Works great, and high quality. I also get a wider view.

If the mirror keeps falling out of it's housing, a little super glue should hold it in. If the whole housing is coming off of the swivel thingee you might have to get a new one. Is the mirror hitting anything when you turn your head?

I had the smae trouble with third eye and also moved to the "Take look" mirror. I have had no troubles with the take a look mirror and find it very flexible in terms of how you can position it.

The other has a L shaped part with double sided tape to attach to helmet. This one has a velcro joint to enable removal of the mirror from the helmet.
I've had both and actually broke part of one and needed a replacement part. The people who designed the Third Eye mirror live in Roseville and are very helpful (nice too). They gave me the replacement part I needed free.
Long story I know...but I asked them about the loose mirror problem. Basically it is a tapered ball joint of sorts and can loosen over time. Pushing the mirror back onto the stem will tighten it back up (and this lasts quite a long time).
Here's the quote from their web site:
Ball Joints
The ball joints on Third Eye Mirrors { (02), (03), (05) & (07) } have a unique construction. The joint is made up of three parts. The ball joint can be tightened. When you think the joint is loose just tighten it by firmly pushing the ball deeper in to the socket. The ball joint can not be pulled apart. If you need to dissassemble a ball joint press a blunt instrument into the little hole on the joint and push the joint appart.
Incidentally their web site is:
