After a few yards he figured out I was gong the same way he was, so he cut off to the right, but for a couple of seconds it seemed as if we were racing.
Any interaction with a skunk where you don't end up getting sprayed is good. On a related note one of my dogs was messing with a baby skunk one day (dumb dog) and the skunk was spraying. I'm guessing the babies don't exactly know how to use their spray as it was spraying all over the place, but never in the direction of my dog. Thankfully the dog got out of there without getting sprayed.

I saw a boy of about 10 with his medium sized dog perched on his bike. He was riding a bike with chopper style handle bars and there was a small bar that ran from one side of the handle bars to the other with some sort of padding and the dog's front feet were dug in there and there was something similar on the lower bar where he had his rear feet. The kid was bopping along at a pretty good pace and the dog seemed to really like it and had obviously done it before. As we passed, I could only mutter "nice dog - good trick". I'll be looking for him again when i pass through his neighborhood.

A hairless coyette about 2 weeks ago. Took me a while to figure out what it was.

My newspaper used to be late every day, by at least 20 or 30 minutes. Not a big deal for most, but I leave the door at 6 sharp to get to work by 7 so I can shower and change, etc. I like to have at least a half hour to read the paper (necessary for my work). I used to call and complain almost every day. The paper kept telling me that they had designated it for early delivery, and had no idea why my delivery person could not get there on time.

One morning, I wheeled out of my driveway and around the corner. There, parked on the shoulder (in a little brush alcove) was the paperboy's pickup. It was still semi dark out, and he was standing outside the passenger side, facing inside his car, with his pants around his thighs, flagrant dilecto with, what I can only assume was his girlfriend. Classic find! Next morning, I waited in the driveway for my paper. When the driver pulled up, I told him I knew why he was late yesterday, and if he wanted to keep it just between the two of us, he might want to consider bringing the paper a little earlier. He stammered, denied the incident, and left. Next morning, and every day thereafter, my paper has been there before I even get out of bed.
