Revolights question.

Hey all,
I was reading on another thread, where someone mentioned that they would stick with their Revolights.

I didn't want to hijack the other thread, so I figured that I should start another thread.

I would be interested to know what users think of them. Right now, they aren't an option for me--- the company doesn't make them for 26" wheels and or Xtracycles. If the company ever comes out with a 26" set I will be ordering a set.

Also, I am talking about the Revolights--- not the Reelights.
Any input would be appreciated.

I've looked at Revolights, and price aside, I thought they looked cool as marker lights, but my reservations with them, price included, are three-fold.

First, they seem prone to damage, sitting proud of the tire as they want to do. Things like scraping curbs or rack insertions seem hazardous, and depending on what kind of space you've got to store at home, carrying a bike or just navigating a cluttered garage seems to present snag opprtunities.

Another thing is the flickering of the front lights being annoying. MI can't run a flashing headlight because it makes me nuts.

Finally, the price. $200+ can get you a great, proper headlight/tailight combo. Sure, the Revos are about style, and I get that, but I really like having a moveable headlight that I can swap 'tween bikes easily, and that takes priority for me.

For me, if they were just a bit cheaper, I'd buy 'em and try just for giggles, but right now they're priced out of my 'sh*ts-n-giggles' expenditure range...and I've got a pair of Monkeylights!

I'm contemplating checking them out... like chaadster though, it's tough to justify for sh*ts & giggles at $229

Thank you BLACK RIDER for posting the video review. Seeing how bright they were in a well lit environment I bet they are awesome at night. When they make one that is 26 inch compatible, I will be all over it.

Yes, very nice video, Black Rider. Maybe a bit too long, but insightful.
