No evidence. Anyone can talk on the interwebs?

You have just about enough for a Department Store Bike (I suggest a GMC Denali).

not a bad idea, but I don't really use a smart phone, nevermind an iPhone5 or better, which I would need for the watch right?

also, 349 is kinda pricey!

Believe it or not, I was looking at one of these to use around the green belt surrounding London and it wouldn't be a loss if someone stole it.

Halfords | Falcon Explorer Men's Hybrid Bike - 19"

149 is a good price.

originally, i was looking at this ... but wanted fenders and a rack.

Halfords | Trax T700 Hybrid Bike - 18", Dark Red

it's the same price as shipping my MTB over from Germany

I'd be tempted by that Falcon Explorer, if you don't mind the weight.

I check it out in person and it's quite stout for weekend rides. It's also not a theft magnet like my MTB would be.

The drivetrain looked/felt good and there's no so many hills in the London area anyway.

Some good tubes/tires/tuning and it's probably a great bike for weekend use.

The other option was a folding bike for 149

Halfords | Raleigh Evo-7 Folding Bike

and I'd ride and from the station. Every weekend, I'll be leaving work at 5pm every Friday and taking the train down to London and leaving for back up North at 6pm on Monday morning

then I can get some more rides in over the week

Now I don't ride trains and I've never tried a folding bike, but I've always imagined that ... a folding bike is the only way to go, train or bus, or if you frequent some shops along the way. You have the SS already in England right? So you need a folding bike. I wonder if you can get that fitted with a dynamo

Actually, I can take full-sized bikes on the fast train for free (but only 5 max per train). The folding bike seems like an interesting idea to try something new that I have a reason to (like the SS bike because it's quite flat).

Dynamo hub 20" wheels for £36

That is a great price for what looks like a serviceable folder. No other cycling peoples is more folding bike obsessed than the poms. Mebbe I'll look at one the next time I visit family...

It's right in line with a Trek 7200 hybrid that I once had.

Its weight was a major factor in its being part of the annual herd cut.

lol

I was in Frankfurt and then over in Hungary.

I'm always stressed before travel and as everything builds up so I take it out on BF sometimes. In this case the travel correlated with the ban and lack of internet access, so it was OK.

You need to get a life if you're trolling me.

It's not germane to the current narrative line of the thread. And, you're horrible at trolling.

I guess you are right, it sucks when someone derails your thread with a bunch of b.s. that isn't relavent. Remember that. Welcome back.

My point is this is quite a crappy attempt at a derailment (now that you officially admit it).

Anyways, I like the idea of a folding bike.

BFOLD 3 Folding Bike, City Bike MATEX - All Bikes Cycling - On sale at Decathlon.co.uk

this one is only 139 with a 3-speed IGH.
