I do my 20 miles one way in usually 1:20-25 "moving time" and around 1:25-30 "total time." I hit a lot of long ass stop lights. There are also a ton of stop signs that I need to at least slow down for, which is killing the average. I would love to see how long it takes me if I never had to slow down.

It works out well for me.

Driving to the subway- 1 hour Door to Door (d2d)
Driving to the commuter train- 1 hour d2d
Driving to work- 1+ hour d2d
Biking- about 1:30 dtd. Yea, my daily commute takes an extra hour, but I enjoy it, and the exercise is great.

I suspect 22 miles would take me like 2+ hrs. No way I can do that both ways on the same day!

I'm going to start commuting by bike for my first time. It will be about 32 miles round trip.
A little nervous about it, road with no shoulder barely even a fog line, back roads for 13 miles.
Excited though.

You're going to have fun. I started commuting by bike 2 months ago. The excitement hasn't worn off yet.

I've done it a few times on the weekend just to make sure I want to.
The only thing that makes me nervous is morning traffic, since the road is a back road, people tend to speed.

Oh, also I am holding off until I get a nice rain jacket/pants/waterproof bag. I'm a college student, and this is western Washington!
