Toe Clips For Big Foot
 

I use some very large boots for my commute. (Bunny Boots. Ask any Vet or someone in Alaska what they are and they tell you one word, WARM!) The problem comes in the boots don't fit into any Toe Clip that I have ever seen. In my case, the foot get off angle and I have some minor Knee pain because of it. I am using an XL Toe Clip and still I feel that fit isn't right. Has anyone run into this problem and if so, how did you fix it?

For the fore-aft length of the clip, you can put shims between the clip and pedal. For the height I have no good ideas other than to have someone manufacture custom clips for you.

Have you tried riding without clips? My clipped pedals got to the point of needing service (bearing repack & adjustment). I put some basic platforms on for short term use until taking care of that... nearly a year ago. Turns out that for commuting I don't really miss the clips.

the boots may just be too big for cycling. but what I've done with all my clips is cut them to be 1/2 clips. they are great year round especially with winter footwear. or maybe a bigger actual pedal. I read some posters recommending something called a bearclaw

Try riding without the toe clips- for a day or two it will feel odd and then you adapt.

Toe clip not long enough? add a spacer set and a longer bolt set to move the TC further forward .

but , personally , Im not using pedals with toe clips , or SPuD pedals at all , just platform pedals .
so I can wear any shoe I have,... this time of year they're mostly rubber , because it's wet out.

the pedals have grip pins to not have the shoe slip [my Ergon pedal uses a grip patch.. ]

use power grips. they'll fit any size boot you have on. I use them for my NEOS overshoes and they work great.

Very familiar with Mickey Mouse boots, aka Bunny Boots. More than likely you will need to fabricate some. Those boots are very thick and tall.
