Wind gusts :(

BBC Weather - TS15

75mph gusts with rain, single speed and deep dish rims are suboptimal.

I asked my doctor what "suboptimal" meant. The curt response was, "It doesn't work." Let me guess, your ride didn't go so well?

It works, but it was one of the few rides I wished for a different bicycle configuration.

There was ice of the streets this morning, so this was my worst day of riding in the UK, since I moved here.

75 MPH? What? Do you have winter hurricanes or something?

I'm pretty well known for tackling tough weather. But I wouldn't-a gone out in that. Not on a bike.

You've got guts.

Still, I suppose fogging glasses weren't a problem.

Enjoy it while you can. I commuted in 70 mph gusts last month. 'Twas a lot of fun!

PS: And that was in the city. Peak gusts hit 90 not too far away.

In that kind of weather you're supposed to stay inside so you know, you don't die from falling trees & power lines.....

If i had to go out, i'd walk & try to stay well clear of tall trees & power lines.

fertility doctor told wifey & I we were subfertile and our chances of conceiving naturally were less than 0%. 2 & 3 years later we had two perfect kids naturally :-)
