New York City from the seat of a bicycle....

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...y-commute.html

A graphic designer has taken a series of stunning pictures that show a side of New York City that not everyone gets to see - he takes fast-moving shots of day-to-day life from the seat of his bicycle.

Tim Sklyarov has dazzled his audience with other photo series of New York living, but his collection of shots from the seat of his bicycle offer a unique perspective of the City that Never Sleeps.

Sklyarov is a creative director at a hospitality marketing company called HeBS Digital. But he's also a photography enthusiast who has turned his blog into his 'personal playground' for his interesting photography projects.

Three years ago when GoPros first hit the scene I borrowed a friend's and put this together. Commuting in a city is always going to be an adventure.

The same GT Outpost Mountain bike I've been riding since 1996. I also have a collection of cruisers, folders, and some antiques.

Nice shots and footage. For me, there's really NOTHING like actually being on the bike in the middle of NYC. The only reason I have never tried to capture the thrill with my camera is that I don't want to miss one second of the experience. Thanks for sacrificing your rides for these, capejohn and thermalattorney!

    Nice video.

I spend roughly 3 months of the year living and riding in New York City and I love it. Strange that I love riding there so much given that I also spend hours of time riding remote dirt roads.

I do it every time I ride. The novelty wears off. My commute is from Brooklyn to 42nd St in Manhattan and I see it all. My weekend rides take me from Bkln to the GWB in the city, and sometimes the Bronx and Queens. I'd rather be on Maui.

That video is much better than those shots in the cited article. Nice job!

Yeah not much groundbreaking about those shots in the article. They're just video camera stills, which means the quality is quite low.

My commute is from Brooklyn to Queens, mostly along the water. So I get some pretty nice views but it's mostly uneventful. I **** riding up the west side to Inwood, or across the GWB and doing the NJ loop, but it does get repetitive and certain areas are so crowded with tourists who just waltz into the bike lane without looking. The park is nice, but gets crowded and is annoying to get to. I can see why people like it, but like Zacster said the novelty wears off.

I know a guy who rides around Far Rockaway, so I'll have to try that. Another friend also rides up to Bear Mtn, but I'm not ready for that yet.
