A pretty exotic breed, from the Portland (ME) Press Herald. It's about two guys who bike to work on "VeloMobiles", mostly-enclosed recumbants.

It mentions that the Velomobile weighs 70 lbs. I wonder if there's any room for improvement there? Surely they could trim 20 lbs from that...

They are supposed to be very nice in winter. Keeps you warm in there.
I like the sponsor idea.

There used to be a guy who posted regularly here, within the past two years, who lived in Maine and commuted in a Mango.
I think this is his site:

[edited:]
Whoops, just read the story, it IS him.

I see the aerodynamic advantages of that rather nice....
...but...
...what i would have liked to see was a 4-wheel recumbent with a clear bubble-top, and wipers...with special venting to keep rain/road splatter off you, that way rain commuting could be SO much drier and cleaner.

I am still around, although spend most of my time reading Bent Rider Online's message board instead of this forum. I also found that it was easier to write about my experiences in my blog, rather than on this board.
So if you want to track me down, stop by my web site www.hazbro.com/mango.
Enjoy!

They have these guys in my town that ride on the trail. They're kind of rude and stuck up. (Sorry recumbant guys, I am not saying all of you are, just my small experience with them has been bad).
Those seem like a good idea though.
Just 2 cents....

That's true, but I did not make fun of them. I just got dirty looks as I waved to them (as I do with everyone I encounter on the trail) and they didn't wave back.....

There was a Go-One on eBay last week. I was going to get it for commuting. Auction got cancelled though.
I think a velomobile would be awesome for commuting. Until you had to change a tube. Or look for a parking spot.

The Go-One was pulled at it had been sold months before. The same Go-One keeps popping up in eBay. So do not bid on it unless you ask around first.

Sorry to dredge up an old topic, but its seems as if a go-one has appeared on eBay again. I found it with 6 days, 22 hours remaining, and immediately emailed the seller asking if he thought I would fit in it (I am 6'4"). Well, the auction was cancelled, as described before, but the seller emailed me back saying that he would sell it to me for 1600 GBP, shipping included.
Could this be the same go-one as before?
The one for sale was a 2001 carbon fibre model, bright yellow, with matching rear panniers and a yellow safety flag.
What's the deal here??
