For the nerds: Speed-Up Bag fairing / handlebar bag
Speed-Up Bag
(Via Bike Snob NYC)
I'm posting this in the commuting forum because for road bikes it violates style and for racing it's illegal. But for whatever-works commuting it seems like an ok idea.
The load is carried a bit high and the aero benefits might be overstated but it's a convenient place for a medium sized permanent bag. It sure seems better than building a case into the front wheel, for example. It reminds me somewhat of the Axio tank bag I used to have on my motorcycle.
Discuss! I think if I were inventing a fairing/bag I'd prefer it to attach to the frame, and want it wider, and with a windshield. Motorcycles fairings on touring bikes cleverly fair the hands with the mirrors. I had an R1200GS that had a fairly wide fairing that covered the body and shoulders and had bark busters on the hands.

I'm sure it'd work for some.
I use panniers and that leaves little room for my lights.

I hate to diss new stuff, but i don't believe their aero claims. The deflected air flow doesn't move up in a straight line as in their illustration, and doesn't reach the rider body either. More like curving in immediately in a more elliptical path for about 6-12 inches then turbulent, without much gain (if any) for the rider. Also, any crosswind with that angular shape is going to make for a net loss.
I agree with this.

smaller & so less effective than Zzipper road fairings that have been made for Decades..
I set my Zzipper Thriller* Up (24 years ago) so I didn't have to hunker low ,
the aerodynamic flow of the frontal area did that for Me.
though as primarily a handle bar bag the flow over the bag is a bit smoother than a leather and canvas one.
but since you cannot open the top and look inside its probably a lousy handle bar bag , functionally.

It's a neat idea, but it looks like this one doesn't gain much at my average speed (15-17mph). Definitely not worth almost $300.

They must not believe in bar mounted accessories over in Slovenia? Install that thing and there would be no space for lights, computer/gps/smartphone (w/<insert favorite app(s) here>), or camera...

It looks like the top half of a bikini fairing for a motorcycle, and would eliminate the space for my lights. Much as I miss the tank bag for my motorcycles, I don't think this is the replacement for it. Especially if it costs $300.

you better have thick skin when you go to the local club ride with that. I catch heat just for having my carbon topeak rack on my roadbike.

I hope they make it to production, but I'm afraid if it does, someone from slowtwitch will buy one take it to A1 (wind tunnel) and then rip on them about the results!

No one carries the DogBoy
Looks like a giant nose for the front of your bike! I'm not a fan of this one. I'll stick with my boxy bag. I don't go fast enough for this to matter anyway.
