I cannot understand what you're trying to say, but here's a video on how to install SKS fenders.

The Avants don't have the same mounts for fenders as most bikes. So if it was standard that video (which I had already watched) would be perfect but as they are not I thought it would be better to ask the guy who has them fitted to his Orbea avant.

Ah yes, that part is tricky. I bought small L brackets from my local hardware store to mount the fenders. Here are a few pictures. The nice part with the L brackets, in particular on the front fork, is they push the fender stays far enough out that they don't interfere with the disk brake.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

1. Velo Orange hammered fenders - pretty, but difficult to install, interfered with toe clip, frequently needed adjustment, didn't like em.

2. Planet bike: Easier to install, not as good coverage, kind of cheap looking, they were OK. This bike was stolen with the fenders on.

3. SKS Longboards: Easy to install, great coverage, look nice.

Ah that makes so much sense. How did you secure the front fender and rear to the frame as I cant get the screws to go more than half way in. Orbea are not making fitting the guards easy thats for sure ha ha. Thank you so much for you help its appreciated.

I've installed SKS fenders on 4 bikes this year.
Regarded as the best by whom?

Orbea really didn't make it very easy. They designed the fender mounts so they would be hidden if not used, but that design makes them tricky to use. It took me a while to figure out how to mount them. I actually exchanged a number of emails with Orbea and they were fairly helpful and very responsive.

Here are pictures of the fenders where they are mounted to the frame. I am not sure why the orientation of the pictures is incorrect when I upload them, sorry about that.

Is this what you wanted to see? Please note, the front fender is not installed as one would normally install the fender. I have it mounted behind the fork rather than in front. I had to do this so there was enough clearance between the tire and fender. I didn't have this problem with my SKS Chromoplastics or my Portland Design Works, but I had to do it this way with the SKS Bluemels.

Please, don't mind the dirty bike. I took the long way to work today and the bike is now filthy.

Also, I don't remember what size the hex bolts are. Hopefully, you have the right size. If they are not going in easily they may be too big so be careful.

By most of the folks in this thread, it looks like.

And by me, and most of the folks on other bike forums I frequent.

Do you have a differing opinion? Please share instead of nitpicking.

I have Gilles Berthoud stainless steel as a few others have mentioned. I had mine powder coated black to match the bike. They have been absolutely perfect for 7+ years. They have seen a lot of wet and rain. I added thick leather flaps on both the front and back fenders. The flaps reach to 2 inches above the ground.

I have a pair of these on my Gary Fisher Hybrid and really like them.

They are driving me crazy I got a reply from orbea and they actually explained what a fender was....... really?! My job today is to hunt down smaller screws and L brackets.

I wish I would have written down the size of the screws. Usually, I'm pretty good about documenting that stuff. I want to say they were M3 diameter, but I'm not sure.

Orbea really should provide the parts to install the fenders since their mounts are somewhat proprietary.
