cyclocross for ~$800?

yes I want the both world of commuting + occasionally on the road!

but I am new & broke and budget is around $800 and on top of this I live in a city that rains half a year so disc brake would be nice but then the cost...

anyways I appreciate all your recommendations

Go to www.nashbar.com and order the CX 1 Cyclocross bike. Next, add Kool Stop brake pads....DONE!

me and a friend who rides ride motobecane from bikes direct. we are both pleased with our bikes. both of us paid less than $600 for our bikes.

I have a Fantom CX. Bought it in '09, still going strong 5300mi later and after falling off the back of a car at 85mph.
