Bike Forums - Overwhelmed on Rack and Pannier choices. Also, do leather saddles stain clothes?

In theory there's two versions, disc and non-disc. Everywhere place I look only has the disc version. I bought the disc version and mounted it on a non-disc bike with no issues. I kinda prefer the disc version, someday I may upgrade my bike to a disc brake frame and I'll be able to use the rack I own.

Lol, you must have very different fashion sense than I do. :-) I cannot imagine biking around with a pannier unless I needed to. I also found that a packed pannier creates drag that I can feel, while a trunk back doesn't create any noticeable drag.

Of course - you should go with the choice that fits your own fashion sense. :-) Good luck!

From fashion sense, I love the look of the Brooks Roll Up panniers, other than the nosebleed cost. But really gorgeous looking, folded and unfolded.

Oh I'm concerned about carrying the panniers/trunk bag, not how they look on the bike.

I have the Topeak MTX TrunkBag EX, it fits my Galaxy 10.1 nice and tight so it doesn't move around:

No built in panniers must make more room in the bag? REI and my LBS never carry the TrunkBag EX, they push the pannier version.

Thanks for the link, those look very nice.

They look cool. How handy are they when taken off the bike? What I like about my Ortlieb is that both bags can be taken off individually and that they have shoulder belts to carry around.

I don't use the Linus or Brooks panniers, but I think people who do leave them on the bike (they can be locked to the bike). I can see how that would work nicely if you put bags down into them that include their own shoulder straps or carrying handles. I use Ortlieb frontrolller classics on back. They work well for me, but don't exactly look professional if I need to go straight from the bike into a meeting.
