Single wheel trailer for commuting
I decided to post this here as well as the "utility forum" because this one seems to get more traffic. I have a single wheel bike trailer and have heard that they put stress on the frame. But first off, if I don't really rock my bike side-to-side, will it still put stress on the frame?
How does it put stress on the frame? It seems like it would put stress on the axle rather than the frame.

I guess I should also add that I don't really plan on hauling any more than 20-30lbs in it in case that has a factor. It's mostly for large loads rather than heavy ones.

I've been using a Performance brand (or maybe it's Nashbar) single wheel trailer for years without any issues with the bicycle.
I have bent the connecting arm carrying over load capacity, but that's it. Mine uses a replacement axle setup, and I've looked at that several times-- every winter and spring actually, when I swap my wheels out-- and it shows no signs of bending. How the trailer might damage a frame I don't understand.

It's not generally considered a big deal unless the trailer is very heavily loaded.

For commuting , consider what you will do with the load after you arrive and Lock the bike UP..
to that Perhaps this will be better Burley Travoy Bike Cargo Trailer | Bike Trailer
as the 2 wheels make it stable and it will pull by hand quite nicely up stairs , in elevators and Etc.
I had a BoB, as a utility trailer it got quite squirrelly one load was not low and densely packed and tied down ..
the 1 wheel is a fulcrum ... the road surface will cause torque to happen leverage on the whole trailer.. a very substantial frame would help,
and have a spare QR skewer on hand , as they do break, LBS here has a request for one from cycle-tourists occasionally .
