Like is it really that odd to see someone with a high vis helmet??? Picture below.

It's an evolutionary marker, helping people like yourself figure very quickly who are at the bottom of the list when it comes to choosing a suitable mate.

Most helmets I've seen weren't hi-vis but they're certainly about. My helmet is slightly the worse for wear these days and its replacement might well be a hi-vis version. But even as a 40-something man I don't imagine your frat boys are going to have anything more intelligent to say to me if I were ever to ride past them.

I love it!

extra geek points: Go Pro Camera , and a headlight mounted on the helmet ..

Check on the helment mounted light on my hi-viz Muni, but you forgot points for the flip mirror.

And Archery_Queen, put on a Little 500 themed t-shirt and tell the frat boys you'll see them at Armstrong stadium on the 26th! ;)

I usually have sorority girls hopping on their bikes and chasing after me when they see my helmet...helmet harassment is just one of those things you have to learn to live with. Mine's not even hi viz.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret.... People are the absolute worst. They suck. Don't take anything any of them say to heart. In fact, don't even listen to them at all, they're the worst!

"Nice helmet"
"Yeah? Nice lobotomy stitches." :)

But really, the "Heeey you..." wasnt working so they had to 'think' of something. (Using that term loosely.)

Ah! There is your problem. At Purdue the frat boys come out and cover the streets in rose petals for bikers wearing helmets.

Seriously though ;) I have the same helmet in black and that helmet rocks!

Is that a helmet in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

kookaburra1701 04-10-14 01:04 PM

I have to ride my bicycle through Frat row to get to my work, usually at night. I've lost count of all the dumb things I've had hollered at me from porches/cars/the street/etc. At least during winter I can wear my ZanHeadgear balaclava. I don't get many comments with this thing on.

On point! <sarcasm> Isn't everyday sexism great? </sarcasm>.
