FWIW, his intent was good: include your spouse in your hobbies if they're willing.

But even as a guy the delivery made me wince: I brought my wife so I had to pick the shortest route, could only go half my normal pace, and had to stop several times for her to rest. After all that she quit early because she was sunburned, - but bless her for trying !

I know he didn't mean it to sound that way and instead wanted to leave us with the impression that they had fun and should do it more often. It seems that in BF posts though, there is often a temptation to boast about how fast we are and in this case it came at the expense of his wife. She may not care in the least but it didn't sound great. Did we really need that part of the story?

I enjoy riding with the SO. Now that she has a lighter bike in better repair than the old klunker we had before, the rides are much more fun.
