Is Orange My New Black?

Have to decide between this:

And this:

This is my new Jamis 2014 Coda Sport and the colors are called Tigers Eye and Gloss Black. I already have a black LHT, which I like. I'm just wondering if the color will hold up over time. Black looks better as it ages and is easy to touch up, although I've never touched up a bike in my life so I don't even know why that matters. I just like orange enough to be on the fence. The actual orange color is kind of a matte finish, not shiny, which I like.
Anyway, your thoughts are welcome

I like the orange. It stands out without being garish. As a commuter, that little bit of extra visibility can't hurt.

I'm a fan of the series, so I'm a fan of this thread's title.

I'd say go orange. One of the reasons I like my neon yellow Trek frame is because it stands out just a bit more in the dark than a black one would. Wouldn't rely on it over lights, etc, but every bit helps.

As someone who owns a deep gray bike my vote is with the others.. Go orange every little bit of visibility helps..

Seriously? Visibility? The thing's a burnt orange. It's not a hi-vis color. Most of the bikes in the bike shop have more flamboyant color schemes than that. I see no improvement over black.

But it is a good looking bike.

Neither finish is designed for maximum bling. That's good for a bike you're going to lock up outside.

Well thanks for the input! It's impossible to get an opinion from non-cyclist types. Like parents, they just don't understand. Orange is faster and awesome. I sadly won't be using it to go to any weddings or funerals so no need to go formal. And I could solve the problem by upgrading to the Coda Elite, but that would require me explaining why I need more shekels to the non-cyclist type I married.

I feel like if they take a $30,000 vehicle to work every day you should be able to take a $3000 vehicle every day no questions asked.

Should have made the title "Show me pics of your orange bikes!" With that said, I like the orange as well.

I'm on the fence. I just watched the first 3 or 4 episodes this week, and I would expect some sexual content based on the show's theme, but about 80% of the sex seems totally irrelevant to the story and just eats up unnecessary bandwidth... Who cares about the fiance's ************ strategies on the outside? I'll give it a couple of more episodes, and if I don't give in and become a fan, I'll give up.
