The cateye 1100 is very waterproof and bright. There are many others.

In a pinch any tail light you have will be rainproof just by putting a cheap sandwich plastic bag over it, and a tight elastic at the mounting location.

If you get the thinnest cheapest bags and pull it tight across the lighting surfaces, It will not make much difference in brightness.

This works on computers too.

My commute bike has a dyno-hub and there is a Supernova E-3 headlight and 3 LED tail light which is always on. In the winter time (when the commute is in the dark), I add a Dinotte tail light which I keep in Blinky mode - this is powered from a rechargeable battery pack which gives me more than a week of commutes on one charge. I used this same setup when I lived in Maine where they have weather (rain, snow) and never had any issues with any of those lighting systems.

I like the tl-ld1100 as it always works, and is visible from wide angles. Oh, and almost every gas station has aa batteries.

True. Almost visible from directly ahead. Easy to replace batteries on the road.

I have the earlier model the 1000 not quite as bright, but equal quality.

If they would only break, I could get new ones.

I retired a 1000, may use on daughters bike, if I can find the right mount.

If you want one, better hurry they were discontinued awhile ago. Replaces by the rapid 5. My SO rides this and it is bright with wide angle pattern, but not from the sides...

I was trying to see if anyone still had stock on this one and I struck out. I really like the 90 degree led's. The successor(Rapid 5) to this isn't near as bright from the side profile.

They're all made in the same place. The different companies just put their names on them. Sanyo makes a lot of them. Here it is same exact light, cheap.......this is normal business practice.

Look for any hard to find or discontinued lights here. They're probably all here.
