Merry Christmas! My spouse and I just got back from a lovely ride along the Mississippi River. It's a gorgeous 50-degree day in Memphis.

Merry Christmas! Just rode my R/T commute distance of 30 miles in sunny SW Florida. 72 degrees, sunny and windy. Back to the 30 degree grind next week.

Merry Christmas/happy holidays to all. I got a sweet new rack top back, some great lights, and bike clothing. Santa was good to me.

I got some merino base layers which are pretty cozy.

My son got his N + 1, which is a batavus bike from the Netherlands. It is a great commuter for kindergarten next year. It has fenders and a rack. Though as he pointed out he needs to put in his bell and light from the other bike.

You as well! Im not a religious person, but i've always felt that we need at least one organized day a year to show kindness & appreciation, even if we should do it every day.

I got new brake pads (thank you) & one section of the OEM polycarbonate chaincase for my uptown to make riding a bit more worry free. Part number got confused i guess ahaha.

Merry Christmas @joeyduck Hope you had a great day. Rode to work today! I figured if I have to work the day after Christmas, I might as well burn some Christmas cookies/fudge/food off while I am at it.

I didn't really encourage anyone to buy me bike stuff this year. My MIL has a tendency to shop around for something similar to what I've asked for but which seems more thoughtful to her. That's kind but it doesn't get me what I asked for! I was very, very specific about the only bike thing I did want this year, which was a set of SKS longboard fenders. And I got them!

The selfsame MIL had to be talked by her daughter out of buying me a KitchenAid stand mixer when what I wanted and had asked for was a Cuisinart food processor. So more cooking for me it seems. I don't mind, I'm the cook in our family.

Well Merry Christmas everyone! I guess I'm a day late, but I hope we're all having a good holiday.

My mom gave me a christmas card with cash, and now I have a TLD armoured long-sleeve shirt on the way.

Merry Christmas! Hopefully none of you had to actually bike commute on Christmas. I went for a nice 2-hour ride from home at a fast pace, trying to burn up some calories. Rode 50 miles yesterday at a more leisurely pace. I've been off all week and should top 200 miles for the week when it's all done, a nice conclusion to 2014. Unfortunately it's looking like I'll get rained out at least one of my final two commuting days of the year -- a fitting conclusion to 2014. I missed more days to rain than ever this year.

I don't know if anyone has ever told you: Bikes don't melt when they get wet. Get some rain gear.

I'm fully aware of that, I just don't like riding in the rain. It's inevitable sometimes when bike commuting or when you get cabin fever after too many days of cruddy weather. The main reasons why I don't like riding in the rain are poor visibility due to glasses fogging and spotting up, and my bikes getting all dirty and muddy. I've averaged 9,000 miles/year for the past three years while avoiding rainy days, so it's not like I need to ride in the rain to boost my mileage.

On my little 8-mile commute to work it's about a half hour at the most. I'll ride in rain, ice, whatever because I'm finished before it seriously affects me. Stretch that to an hour and a half for a long commute and it's a different story altogether

And Merry Christmas to you also!
