Here's my Chrome Citizen:

I've had this since 2008 or 2009 (I forget when I got it). I use it daily, rain or shine, it keeps my gear safe and dry. I find it very comfortable to wear, easy to adjust and I can fit a ton of wildly diverse things in this bag!

I've used the MULE for a little over 2 years now. I don't use the hydration bladder on my commutes, typically. Holds everything I need. No complaints.

This is my Topeax MTX EXP trunk bag. I think I've been using it for about 2 years. What I love about it is that the main storage area is big enough to carry everything I need on a daily basis, and the drop down "pannier" pockets give me extra space if I need to carry my laptop or unexpectedly need extra storage while I'm out. I've picked up MTX racks for a few of my bikes, so this is easy to grab in the morning with everything but a change of clothes already packed.

Demano Brompton bag; 2 years old. Can clip on the headtube of my bike or use the strap as a messenger bag.
Waterproof, roomy, made from recycled advertising banners, available in a lot of colors/designs.

Osprey Momentum. Very comfortable, even for 1+ hour rides. It doesn't shift around. It has a built-in hi-viz rain cover. All around great.

Avenir trunk bag, bought for me by my wife for a prior birthday. Using it is so thoughtless, just cram stuff in and ride off. Perhaps not as pretty as that more structured Topeak bag. I have the front loop zip-tied to the seat frame.

I've been wondering why all the luggage for bikes is soft-sided. Modern bikes would look pretty good with some hard shiny luggage with some graphics on them, I think.

Motorcycles can have either type. My R1200GS had hard cases with a clever expanding feature. Hard cases are usually color matched to the body work, but sometimes have a cover to make them look leather. This has in turn led to the current style of leather-covered fairings, which I find really odd.

I use the bag facing the camera everyday. It is a MEC pannier made of cordura I think. It is tough but starting to show its wear after years of use and abuse. There is an outer mesh pocket which had been rubbed against concrete bridge barriers and it is almost worn through. The bottom is starting to develop a hole that should be stitched up. It nicely holds my pump, tools and other extras. Plus all my daily needs fit; clothes, lunch, thermos of coffee, and book.

As mentioned it had been used for years and thousands of kilometers of commuting, it has seen a lot of rain and grit. It has also been lent out for European bike trips. It is several shades darker than its lightly used comrade on the other side.

My current bag

Waterproof, reasonably roomy, durable, lacks tab for blinky.

In so many ways, this is a very nice set up! Tip o' the hat!

I don't have a pic handy, but I love these
Amazon.com : Axiom Seymour DLX 30 Pannier Set Black Gray : Bike Panniers And Rack Trunks : Sports & Outdoors

The price is right, they have been holding up very well, have had no issues of anything inside getting wet and they fit everything I need

And I have some sort of Bontrager trunk bag on the bike I road today. It is fairly voluminous, and seems pretty durable. It was free - someone at the shop wanted a new bag and didn't want this one back for whatever reason...so it became mine. I'll take a picture next time I walk downstairs

Chrome Metropolis. Absolutely the best bag I have ever used. I picked it up used, and have beat the hell out of this thing in the rain, snow, sleet, salt, blazing sun, etc. and it has performed beyond my expectations. It is showing signs of wear now which for how much I have used it, makes it a killer deal.

Not me or my pic, but my bag.

Ballard Market single pannier. It pulls off and converts to a backpack or a market bag. Very useful for taking my stuff with me once I park the bike.

That's with the expander up (had to ride like that this morning carrying a package to ship off):

And here is normal:

Like I mentioned earlier, I am quite happy with it considering what I paid. I am not quite sure it is big enough though for a trip all the way from the house where I bring spare clothes, lunch and sometimes shoes. Maybe in the summer when I tend to wear shorts and a polo, but certainly not in the winter. Of course, I could move my panniers over to this rack easily enough, too.

Thank you. I've been quite fond of my set up.

@Andy_K and @downwinded.
I like the look of those TopPeak trunk bags . I have a top peak rack and since we are upgrading to a trailer I may consider getting one of those trunk bags to change it up. How are the fold out panniers? Durable? Big? Easy to fold and unfold? How is loading and the closure?

But I have yet to see my bike post accident so who knows what is actually going to happen and what else I might change around.

I totally agree; I wish there were more hard case options. I found a pretty cool set up for the back of my cargo bike, but I have a lot more room to work with.

The fold out panniers are nowhere near pannier-sized. When I put my laptop in there with its padded sleeve it has enough room left for a jacket and a small lunch. On the other hand, even when folded up there's a little storage room there. I keep a rain cover in one pocket and my pump, patch kit and tire levers in the other one. It keeps the messy stuff out of the main compartment.

I'm fond of this one from Ortleib, which I think is their shopper bag.
