Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

I went to today's race to see how an XC race is run and to find out if I'd like to enter a "C" race next time it's in town. The overwhelming verdict from both my girlfriend and from me is that CX is awesome.

Here are some of the best pics (and three videos!):

In the 10th pic doesn't it look like the guy in the black jersey is shoving over the guy in the orange jersey?

do these races have a lapping rule (you get lapped; you're out)?

I don't believe so. The riders wore chips to mark their times and lap numbers.

Where was this race at?
I left Ann Arbor a month and a half ago (after 18 years) and bought a cyclocross bike just days ago.

Interesting, no one shoulders their bikes around here. Maybe our runups aren't steep or long enough? We usually have several barriers on the uphill so that everyone just pushes them to the next barrier.
