Felt F1x vs. Trek X01
Hey Everybody
I'm trying to get into CX racing and I was wondering if anybody has any experience with these bikes. I've narrowed it down to these two, and I just want to hear what people have to say for either one.

i test rode an f1x and ended up buying an xo1 (money being the deciding factor). the felt comes with better wheels and a better fork. i think the felt also has better aluminum in its frame (though i don't know which frame is lighter). i do like the anodized finish on the trek though.
either one you get will make you happy and they are both nice bikes. for the same price though, i would have picked the felt.

I looked at both and the felt had much better specs. From what I've heard the Trek frames are really old designs. The felt was my second choice but I went with the Lemond Poprad and I'm very happy with it.
I'd go with the felt, my LBS was willing to sell it for $1200 US, pretty similar price to the Trek.

They both seem relatively similar with the exception of the Felt having the Ultegra RD and the carbon fork. I love my X-01 though. It's a tough bike and I've had no issues with it in 2yrs (I changed the crank out for a compact though - and got ride of the saddle). You really can't go wrong with either though.

I've had an F1X for 2 years (not sure which model - 05 or 06 - the one with a dura ace RD) and I am really happy with it. I have however never used it as a CC bike, I put road tyres on it and use it on the unforgiving Belgian roads (cobbles, roadkill, etc). The frame and the wheels have taken the punishment well.
No major issues after 6000 km, although of late I have started to notice a creak from the crank which warrants looking at.
Saddle is a bit uncomfortable for a road bike, otherwise no complaints.
