Rollers ok for cross bikes?
Rather than buy a trainer for the winter, I'm looking at purchasing rollers. I'm concerned that the longer wheelbase on my Redline Conquest will be too long for the rollers. I've tried to find exactly what my wheelbase is, but I can't locate it.

I have Travel Trac rollers, and the wheelbase has several length adjustments. Works well for both my track and 'cross bikes.

The better rollers have an adjustable frame so that they can accommodate various wheelbases.
Hope this helps -

PS: You might consider fitting slicks to the bike to ensure a nice, smooth, quiet, comfortable ride when you're on your rollers.

burr burr burr burr... unless you don't mind the noise, buy some cheap-o road tires.
Rollers beat the tar out of "trainers". You have to pay attention to what you're doing-- it's way more active than a trainer.

thanks for the responses. I have been riding on slicks all summer, but i'm just about to change over to CX tires to hit the trails before the New England winter hits.
