Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

New Specialized Tricross Expert

So I got a deal that I couldn't pass up through my Collegiate team's bike sponsor. I picked up a leftover 2008 Tricross Expert a couple weeks ago and I've turned it into my weekday training machine until Cross season starts up again.

I have a couple first impressions to share: First, I've only ever ridden Carbon road frames, and this bike is STIFF in comparison to any of those. It's hard accelerating and really fast, but you pay for it on long rides. Oddly, I think the saddle has the most to do with this impression and I'll be changing it out soon for my standard Selle Gel Flite. Second, the Rival groupset is amazing. My road bike is built up with Sram Red, and I'm wondering honestly why I went for that over Force or Rival at this point. The Rival holds it's own in every regard with Red IMO except for on weight I guess. The shifting performance is awesome.

Anyhow, that's all for now. I only have 500 miles on it so far, so I'll update again sometime this fall probably. So far I'm very happy with my purchase though.
