Whaz Up W/Trek?
I've visited three Trek dealers in my area over the past few days to try and find an XO1 and not only do they not have any they can't even get one from Trek. They say according to the computer they are "not available." It is not only true fro the XO1, but for almost the whole line of Trek road bikes. I excuse I've heard from two dealers is it is because of the model year changeover. Whaaaaat? We're talking bikes here, not cars. They couldn't even give me a date when they would become available. Maybe mid August, maybe late August, we don't know.
Have Treks become so wildly popular since le Tour or is it a marketing ploy, low volume keeps prices high. Bianchi Axis here I come.

Bike manufacturer's project how many bikes they will sell, and that's how many they build. If the demand is greater than their projection, they run out sooner. The road bike segment of the market has been growing (so I've been told by many LBS's), and I'm sure the problem with Shimano running out of components hasn't helped any.

Hey - Trek finally has 2005 XO1s available to ship. Now the hard part. Do I get the XO1 or the Cannondale Cross or Bianchi Axis? Or....my LBS built up a very nice Axis frame whith some special features for about the same price...or...they also carry DeVinci, which I never heard of until stepping into their store.
OK...fire away with recommendations, prejudices, etc.
