I've long been a proponent of microtread tires for off road and dirt road riding, finding an impressive contact patch even with tires with what looks like very little tread.
Latest foray into this exploration was building up an Origin 9 CX700 monstercross bike over the winter, outfitted it with a big volume street tire, and set it up for long distance, ultralite monstercross tours.
Yesterday, a great ride on the "Georgous" trail, in Marquette, located in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the midwest's mountain bike mecca.
Video posted to get below the ad.

I agree to that, I really like my rigid 26 " gravelgrinder with Schwalbe Furious Fred tires. Absolutely horrible in mud, but very fast and predictable on most of the surfaces I encounter.
