I am eagerly awaiting the NC schedule! My goals are 3 races for the year (being busy with both school and my job), I did 1 race last year (Bond Park) and didn't finish last! As long as I can keep my training schedule up this summer/fall I'm sure I'll do better this year.

The Georgia Cross Series is back again in 2007 and expanded to include two new venues: Blue Ridge and Dahlonega. The series of Sunday races will again include 9 race categories including Womens, Masters, and Juniors. The schedule for the 2007 cross series is tentatively as follows:

With local cross practices brimming with anxious riders, the Ohio
Valley region is preparing for a fantastic 2007 season of cyclo-cross
racing. Area promoters have worked hard in the off-season to pull
together a racing schedule packed with quality: events that span the
cities of Louisville, Lexington, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, and
Indianapolis; featuring 4 UCI-sanctioned events, 2 U.S. Gran Prix
races, and the USCF State Championships for Ohio, Kentucky, and
Indiana. Each of the 15 series races will feature guaranteed minimum
cash payouts of $1500, music, food, and completely taped-off and
race-honed courses!

Now in its fourth year, two significant new changes have been made to
the series scoring for this year. The number of events scored for the
overall is the best seven, and the top three in each scored category
will receive some great merchandise donated by this year's series
sponsors: Jamis Bicycles, Trek Cincinnati, BioWheels, 2Wheelsports,
and Torelli. This year there also will be an additional award for the
die-hard crossers: everyone that competes in 10 or more out of the 15
OVCX events will get their name thrown into a hat for a chance to win
a pair of hand-built Zipp 404 Pave wheels valued at $1950! "The OVCX
is a great fit for Zipp. We are based in Indiana, which is part of
OVCX…. While we are well known for the Ironman World Championships and
Pro Tour races won on our wheels, we also make world-class cyclo-cross
wheels," says Andy Paskins, Zipp Marketing Manager. "We're thrilled
to be part of the series and happy to see one of the most exciting
forms of bicycle racing grow in the Midwest through this series."

Here is the schd for the 2007 Inland Northwest Cyclocross Series. I haven't done any of these races in many years but will give a few a try that are close to the house. Farragut state park is a cool area and I've done some MB races there in the past. Riverside State Park is just down the road from me so no excuse to not ride that one. In Missouri, we have a mascot . . . Bubba.

"Why the Bubba Memorial? Big Shark Division Four Cyclist Butthead (aka- Josh Johnson)- last year's series 1st Second Place winner recieved a dog, Bubba. Butthead thought Bubba was a puppy, which it/he is definitely not. Actually, many people at first mistake Bubba for some sort of Hog, but that is a different issue entirely. Although we enjoy Bubba we do not think Bubba is going to live past another cross season. We really don't. He is NOT a puppy. So this series is dedicated to Butthead's soon to be late dog. We'll miss ya Bubba."
