OK so I just got back and wow that was fun! I was actually doing pretty decent until about 3 laps to go and I pinch-flatted; the first wheel I got was very low pressure so I wasted even more time getting one with a bit more air. No idea how I ended up overall but man that was exhilarating!

I went down there to cheer on a few friends, really awesome looking course. I did the farifax cx race as tester, but I wish I would of waited. I took a few pictures with my POS, I'll post some up later.

Cool, I'll be sure and look for you an say hi at the rest of the races. I'm available for water bottle service, payment via post race beer.
Here's all the pics

At some point I'll go through and clean it up, and delete the blurries.

Yeah, we did the same in Cs (what race were you in?). I figured something like that would happen, from my pre-ride, and I was glad I was prepared for it. As soon as I saw everything slow down going into there, I jumped off (almost right as we were going from the asphalt onto the grass) and shouldered all the way through the corner, down the drop, and up the other side; passed hordes of people that way. Subsequent laps I dismounted above the drop; that helped a lot because people would try to ride down, but the problem is you still have to dismount to get up the other side...I figured the dismount would be easier at the top, rather than down in the mud, and I was right...passed so many guys going through there.

Are the fields getting faster or am I just out of shape? I was pretty wasted by lap 4 of Men's C but seemed to get a second wind on the final two laps. Maybe I just need to warm up better. I was on a red Redline with a red jersey.

How did you end up place-wise? And how many CX races have you done?

I placed 43rd in Men's C. I tried my hardest to not get lapped in which case you don't get points standings for the series. I started racing the Pilarcitos series in 2003 but missed last year because I had a baby due in November. It's good to see lots of the same guys coming back out though, makes it feel homey .
