That is 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the single speed race behind the kid. Obviously they were lapping him, but they had such a big gap on everyone else that they let him lead out through the finish straight, not slowly either, the kid charged it. Everyone got a kick out of it, pretty cool.

Here's what the run-up just before the location of kappapb's picture turned into for the elite races. For more of my pictures, check out the Cyclocross Magazine Website

crossasuarus awesome aka spring mountain cx here outside philadelphia pa, great, super fun race

close up of hopping the barriers

the previous laps time through the barriers was more crowded before i passed these guys but running past them while they were trying to remount all together was faster!

This is towards the end of Schooley Mill. I was getting WAY tired by then. I wasn't running up the stairs as much as willing my legs to keep going.

Hope its alright to post this here. I looked for a video thread but couldn't find one. Bay Area Super Prestige C's. I crashed at the last hairpin entering the pavement. Oh well, its not like I was contending for a podium spot anyway. Fun course

Started my day by going over the bars on my pre-lap (stupid sand pit!) and getting my face bandaged up 5 minutes before staging.

Wow! I'm the guy on the mountain bike next to you in the picture!

It was probably the best organized race I've done (in my limited experience)!

limestone cross at the kiln, the final MAC race of the season

over the little tiny barriers

down a steep rutted root section on the backside of the course.
this was a really hard race for me. not sure why but there were 2 steep sections, one was definitley a grassy run up and another almost run up section in the woods that was rideable if you took the right line and there wasnt any traffic in front of you with a gnarly soft dirt 180 downhill turn. meh i was 26 out of 27, my worst result all season. but still a fun end to my cross season up here!

By the u19 race (also the masters), the two wooded sections were complete mud. i had to run up them, which caused my cleats to get clogged up with mud. Then after the run up, there was a really steep grassy section, so there wasn't time to bang out the mud from your cleats. I ended up finishing dead last in the Masters/ Elite U19 Catagory , but it still was a lot of fun!

Finally got around to editing/uploading this one.

Dec 4th, WA State CX Championship
Cat-4 35+

Me and my season-long race rival both ran helmet cams. This is just the first lap. (I'm the one with the pink tires.)
Sorry for the wonky angle on Ken's cam. I didn't aim things right when I mounted his camera. It was a last minute thing; I planned on having more time, but I took a spill in the sand on my pre-laps, fell weird and cut my face and had to go to the med tent for a quick bandage job 10 minutes before staging! Time I planned on using to set the cameras properly.

I saw a couple of pictures of myself from this weekend's race where I look like I ate two or three of the racers ahead of me. I'm not thin, but those pictures were ridiculous.
