Who's killin' it
I wouldn't say I am killin' it, by any means, but in my first race this year I 78/96 and last week I got 25/76. Steadily moving up.
How are your seasons going?

Being an old fart @ 56yrs and racing in the B races I'm pleased with my finishes this season. I'm usually in the 40th to 55th percentile of the final results. On a good day over 1/2 of the racers have to wonder how that old guy beat them.

I'm definitely not killing it. In fact, I think I've been getting steadily worse.
I started out with a tentative upgrade from beginner to Master C and did this:
43 of 49
DNF (strained calf)
83 of 87 (still hobbling)
Did a Wednesday series with mixed Beginner/C/Master C:
127 of 138
98 of 121
107 of 118
This convinced me that for the big series around here I needed to downgrade back to beginner. I did and got this:
106 of 142
73 of 104
98 of 127
28 of 36
33 of 44
83 of 101
Also, mixed in there, just for grins, I tried a singlespeed race and finished
26 of 28
All of these count people who didn't finish as being below me.
With one race to go, I'm planning a big finish!

I'm killing it compared to last year. Started pretty close to DFL in the 3's then worked my way to tail end of the lead group in the 3's.
This year I started DFL in elites, now mid-pack.

Moved up to master B's this year and I'm getting killed. Probably should have stayed in C's but racing that early in the morning suck when you have to drive for a bit. I'm focusing on getting smarter this season since I'm too late to train my way to faster.

Found my legs for the end of the season. 32/124 on first race. Then it was 19, 17, 15, 5, DNF, 2. Interval work on Tues/Thurs with Cat 1 cross racers def. improved my form.

I had my best results this weekend, got some points, and will probably rest until CO CX States. I started intervals about two months ago and like you I think they are really starting to help. I'm doing the Velonews suggested routine: 2-3 sets of 7 x 20 seconds On FULL GAS, 10 seconds OFF with 4 minutes between sets

My team mate is killing it. I keep getting lapped in VACX and Blue Ridge races. Had a good run at Kelly's Acres, but it's not been vintage since, although I was running 3rd in one race 'til I rolled a tub....
