DCCX announces the "Jachtmeester" Prize, a competition for the achtervolgers

Starting 10th row at DCCX? Lucky you! DCCX has prizes for the guys who pass the most competitors.

Jachtmeester (*) prize: As one inebriated Dutchman recounted it, before cyclocross appeared on the muddy fields of Flanders, a hunter who overslept but nonetheless bagged more than his share of the crafty konijn (say "ko-nine"; rabbit) was given the somewhat ironic moniker "Jachtmeester" (*) and often received a bier or treat from his fellow hunters. It was considered poor form to intentionally sleep late in an attempt to impress, and a person who did so was mocked as a "zand verpakker" (literally "the bagger of sand") - the guy who picked the simplest jobs on Windmill-building day. To honor this noble tradition, DCCX is recognizing those riders who hunt down and overtake the most "konijnen" during the 9am, 10am, and 11am races. (e.g. start 98th and finish 50th and you have caught 48 konijnen. Biggest differential wins and ties go to the rider who started with a larger starting number). The "inhaal kampioen" (the champion in overtaking) will be declared "De Jachtmeester" and given a traditional prize. Racers who attempt to cheat up in the starting grid or race a lower category in an attempt to win the admiration of the crowd and the tasty prize can expect instead to be jeered as a zand verpakker, a label sure to last longer than the prize would have.
(* i.e. master hunter, pronounced "yucht maister", but with the ch sounding like you are clearing Charm City Dust out of your throat)

Now if there were a prize for the rider who gets lapped the most times, I might be in the running.
