Women's race has the potential to be quite good, too. A lot of people are conceding it to Vos, but that course could turn out to favor a dark horse like VDB. I'm pulling for KfC but it should be a competitive race, regardless.

But, boy, 4am is awfully early on a Sunday morning. In my younger days I would just have stayed up all night, but alas....

I watched a little bit of the men's race this morning. That sand looks tough! Bummer that the Americans didn't do better. I was surprise that powers didn't finish. I thought for sure one of our boys could crack the top 10.

Not exactly the most exciting races. I wish they would offer F1-type online race charting. It would be nice to follow what the guys in the back were doing.

The women's race was the more interesting one. Even though Vos ran away with it, the race for second was pretty good and you really have to admire the job KFC did. Even though she screwed up the start, and crashed in the first turn, she fought her way all the way to medal position, and ended up 5th. If she didn't have the pedal/foot malfunction, she probably would have been a good match to Vos.

The men's race was run away with by the Belgians. Nothing against them because they were obviously dominant, but as a race it was just too....monochrome. There was some pretty interesting blocking going on though. That course looked really tough with all the sand. You could really see how they were struggling through it.

Koksijde is a bit of an anomaly - there's just nothing like it, especially stateside. frankly, i was surprised that we had anyone in the top 20. that was a really nice effort from Trebon - i figured he'd be our top finisher given the amount of watts he can throw at a course like that. in general, our guys (except for Page) aren't used to that kind of racing and unless it's a relatively fast, non-technical course (like the Lievin WC race a couple weeks ago), our boys suffer. But it goes both ways, and I don't think the european dominance holds on US-style CX courses. We'll have better results in Louisville next year for sure.

Tavern's #2 TV finally had the race on, again,
same time, during the 'superbowl' last Quarter,
Albert rode off the front, so far, that , neither, were very exiting to watch.
