9.22.02 Relaxing day on the farm
I enjoyed a morning coffee outside and a nice chat with Kathy, Shelly, and Natasha. I originally met Kathy at the free store. She’s a great woman who seems very involved in the community. She’s got a 10-year-old son named Kyle who was partying it up last night with the big boys and girls. We had a delicious breakfast and then around 3pm I moseyed on over to the Hillbury’s Farm to talk to Heather. She was outside recovering from last night, which ended up lasting until daylight. I asked her a few questions about the farm and then she let me bring in the horses and wander around the farm while she napped. I told her I’d cook dinner no problem and she was cool with it. After bringing in the horses on a wonderful and sunny day, I munched on a pear and bounced around on a huge family trampoline. Sometimes I just laid in it and stared up at the blue sky through the leaves of the walnut trees surrounding me. Later on, I went inside the house and Heather was helping tend to her son’s friend who hurt his arm skateboarding. Skateboarding and soccer are two popular sports on the island. We started thinking about dinner and a movie with her kids, Lucho and two other guests. I went to the store with Heather and we picked out a movie to rent and some fresh salsa for a fat Spanish omelet. We rode back and I started preparing dinner while the kids started watching a horrible movie they’d rented previously. I had to make a special omelet for the kids who didn’t dig on so many veggies. We ate our omelet with a nice garden fresh salad with yogurt dressing. We popped in The Royal Tennenbaums and afterwards I walked back to Shelly and Natasha’s for the night. (1 mile)
