South FL Tour - Day 5 - 6.7.02
We took US 710 (Beeline) Southeast to West Palm Beach. We stopped in Indiantown for some breakfast at the Good Times Cafe. After loading up on the calories, we pushed on to encounter some heavy rain towards Palm Beach which made riding not much fun and made it seem we were doing a whole lot more miles. I got in touch with Billy and arranged for our first tentless night of the trip. Billy took us out to a restaurant for one of his friends birthday and we ate good, played some pool, and then came the kareoke jams. As it got later, and people became more loose (loose = drunk), everyone started to get up and sing a song. I did one of my favorites, "Bust a Move" by Young MC. I hadn't done that one in a while, but it turned out to be a crowd pleaser. I believe the key to a good kareoke performance is to not take yourself too seriously. I followed it up a little later with Rick James' "Superfreak", then it was about time to call it a night. We slept very comfortably on Billy's couches in the air conditioning. It was nice to be in doors for a night, away from the heat, but especially away from the mosquitoes.
