I am, currently, shopping for a fitness/hybrid type bike.
I've found a Devinci Nassau (2005 model) in my lbs on sale for $759 (Canadian). I think Devinci has discontinued this model.
It's a very nice looking bike and a short test ride felt OK too.
But I cannot find any review/comment on web for this bike. Therefore, making it hard for me to decide.
I think you'd be making a great choice for the following reasons:
Manufacturer, price, components, specs.
The fact that the pedals are included is a nice bonus - that'll save you $75-125 alone. On the other hand, it means that you'll need clipless shoes - $90-? which can be problematic if you just want to do some casual riding with friends. The tire set is 700*23which has fitness/speed written all over it but at the cost of some comfort...but the carbon fork will alleviate some of that for sure. Great seat for its purpose - I have one on my Trek 1000. Tiagra on the rear is a great system for the money. All-in-all a great choice. Your quoted price is very competitive with one of the bike's immediate competitors: Giant FCR.
Full disclosure: I also have a Devinci Millenium road bike that I absolutely adore.
Good luck and happy riding.
I've had a Devinci Nassau bike for about 5 years now. Its getting on a bit now and needs a new front wheel. As the bike is sooo old i'm don't howto go about getting a replacement tire as the place I bought it from has shut up shop and moved on. The only problem is I don't where to get a replacement wheel from.
I am based in the UK but am willing to import a wheelset if I have too. The original wheel spec is:
Hub Shimano Sora
Rims Alex DA-22, 32-hole
Tires 700 x 25c Michelin Dynamic
Spoke Brand DT Swiss stainless steel, 14ga. (2.0mm) straight gauge
Spoke Nipples Brass nipples
Can anyone advise on where to get spares for this bike?
