Can anyone recommend me some bike shops in the Erin Mills Region or Streetsville. I live in Mississauga BTW if you dont know what im talking about. I only have a small car so icant put a bike in it. If i got one i would need to ride it back home. So any recommendations?

Remy Sport is an excellent Bike store right in the center of Streetsville on Mississauga Road (west side just north of the StareBucks and across the road from Second Cup). They carry a good selection of Cannondale, Look, Trek and Giant. I find the sales staff excellent. They're enthusiastic and knowledgable. I'd highly recommend them.

Yes, I already know about this one. The problem is that they dont have any Specialized Hardrocks in the store, or thats whats on the website for Remy. So im looking for an other place with Specialized

Gears at Lakeshore and Mississauga Road sells nothing but Specialized.

CyclePath on Burnhamthorpe and Credit View is the only other bike store I know in Mississauga. I don't recall what they carry.

Im gonna first check out Remy Sport and then if not there, ill go to Cyclepath. The only problem with Cyclepath is that its far away

When I as a kid would cycle from Mimico to Streetsville for a saturday or sunday jaunt,

it was never 'too far away'; then I would guess that the hill at the spring is too steep?

If location of the store is that important to you, then forget about the Specialized and go to Remy Sport with an open mind. They have some amazing bikes there. Ask for JP and he'll get you onto something you'll be more than happy with.

Yeah, im going to Remy first and check it out and if no luck there, cyclepath is my second choice.

im also looking for a MTB for this summer. I already went to re my sport and am going to check out what they have in Cycle path. I will be purchasing a bike with in this coming weeks and let u know when i will get one. im also from the area (eglington/10th line)

in re my sport i was looking at the trek 6500 i think it was listed for 1060 and brought down to 999 so i dont have to pay 2 taxes. Any bike below 1k you only have to pay 5% tax. Its got the parts that i wanted. I was also looking at the 05 trek for around 900 i think its got lx drive train all the way.

then they mentioned about the 9 equal payments no interest which then attacted me to the Giant Anthem for 1900 its a FS XC bike which is what i really wanted. but have to think if its worth it.

I think ill check what cyclepath has to offer. basically i have a 99 Haro that im still using now and wanted to upgrade well i think after 9 yrs it served me well

what are you looking at? Dude those canondales look sick but sure is expensive

Thats not a bad deal. Cheaper taxes are amazing. Does remy have any Specialized bikes? Im looking at the Hardrock right now because it seems to be a good bike and it fits my budget, which is 400 to 500. Im 14 btw so disposable income is hard to come by. If you get the Anthem, have fun.

if you are going to be accompanied by your cousin i recommend to go to Toronto, Bloor and Dufferin there is a place called Broadway Cycles look for Mike and say that Jay and Frederick recommended you that store, 2 of my friends purchased their bikes there 499 for the HardRock Gromock Disk 24 and 599 for the Scott Aspect 50. Both are great bikes i wanted to get those to but considered changing the brakes to hydraulic and a step up on the drive train and fork that i why i said that maybe i could push my budget to close to 1k. I drove both bikes on the DVP trail and they were AMAZING well compared to my old Haro. They are happy with their bikes the guy who purchased the specialize is planning to upgrade the for to the ones with a lock probably next year. The scott has a fork lock already and better fork than the specialized. Yes they did their shopping for more than a month before summer and got those 2 bikes.

FYI - may not mean much but they have standard 5 year warranty and 5 year free tune up. 1 tax also for anything below 1k. see if you need accessories too like helmet, gloves etc he can cut prices and also 1 tax for you

My apologies for making a easy decision

Today I went to the Remy sport and they set me up with a sweeet bike. Its a Giant Rincon. All stock so far and its still feels great. Good relaxed position, pretty good components, and it was around 500 dollars with the water bottle holder and kickstand. Seriously a good bike. Also, Remy gets good reviews from me I asked and told them what I wanted for a price and he was like " Hmm, I think i have somthing perfect for you. Got me measured up and I was ready to go.

Actually Gears sells Giant as well. My GF just bought a Sedona there.

They sell other brands as well.

I cycle to all the Mississauga bike stores from my starting point on winston churchhill. Gears is convinient since it's at the end of the Mississauga road bike path and near the lakefront trail.

Thank you! I plan on going again once I finish the triathlon im gonna do and get more bumpy tires since mine are semi slick. And i need to find a new place to ride trails. Do you know any place?

You should ask that question as a new thread. You'd probably get some excellent suggestions. I have a road bike that I bought just a few weeks ago so I'm still looking for new routes. I'll be riding the Don Valley Parkway and Gardner Expressway tomorrow as part of the Heart and Stoke charity ride.

There is an excellent trail that runs along Sawmill Creek. You can enter at Erin Mills Parkway just north of Burnhamthorpe. It comes out at Mississauga Road north of Dundas. It then crosses into the University and, if you stay to the right, winds its way down into the park. You can then access the trail that runs north along the Credit River. You can make this trail to almost Streetsville. There are a series of smaller trails that run off the main path that take you into the forest and up/down the valley. It's a good ride.

O yeah, ive seen the entrance to that place. Thanks for the idea. But last time my friend went down there and there was this steep hill where he wiped out and skinned his whole arm and sprained his wrist. that was a year ago and it stil hurts...

lanfarm, you mean the big hill at the entrance by UTM? that hill is awsome! just theres paths that look like you can take them... but dont because theres nothing to them but a good drop off on the hill

I take the Glen Erin trail which leads to the junction of the Sawmill valley trail and Mississauga road. I cross Miss. Road, go down the hill into Erindale park and then I follow credit river alongs the Culham trail.

Except for the few breaks in the Culham trail (street sections), you can go all the way to Creditview and Britannia. And I think it goes a bit further than that.

Warning: The Sawmill valley trail is not paved. Most of it is on dirt with some areas with large gravel which narrow tires will get stuck in. The Glen Erin trail is paved all the way from the start near Winston Churchhill and 403 to the end. The Culham trail is a mix of paved and gravel.

Oh and... the Burnhamthorpe trail runs across all 3 mention trails. At the western part it intersections the Glen Erin trail. Then just west of mississauga road it intersects the Sawmill Valley trail (entry point is to the north east of the trail, a bit confusing). Then the Burnhamthorpe trail crosses the Culham trail on the north east side just past the bridge. Take the entrace to riverwood but go down, not up. You can still join up by going North though but you'll have to find the trail entrace in back of the buildings.

As far as I'm concerned this "triangle" is the best part of the complex of trails in Mississauga. Glen Erin, Sawmill valley, Culham and Burnhamthorpe.

Im gonna look these up on a map. Sounds like fun. I live in the Thomas Street area so its hard to get to places. Plus my mom is too strict.
