Well if you don't want to visit Quebec, and you don't want to go through the U.S., you're going to have to take the Arctic Circle route. Shouldn't be much traffic though.

LitePacking, were trying to figure out how your planning to to get from Halifax to Toronto without going through Quebec or the USA. Since both or these areas create a vast obstacle in your way.

Argus i admit i need to form the question different.

The question would be something like this:
Is there a good bicycle rout from Halifax to Toronto, i want to go thru Quebec. But i dont want to use more time in Quebec than i have to.

stick near the Trans Canada and you'll be fine. Especially in NB. Just get a provincial map of all four provinces, and follow the old highways that follow near the TC.

I work tourism, so you HAVE to take my advice!

The Ontario portion is really easy, just follow the Waterfront Trail.

Both Quebec and the NE us are both great areas for cycling, I did the route last summer through the US by taking the ferry from Yarmouth to Portland. If you visit my blog allthesecenturies.blogspot.com you can find the route I took and a bit more. Feel free to PM me if you're thinking about this way and have any questions.
