Cheap, safe and service friendly hotel and cycle shop in center of Halifax town?
Looking for cycle friendly, safe and service friendly hotel in center town of Halifax this summer.
I dont have to be any modern or something as long as it is clean and okay.
I guess nothing is cheap in the summer.. but i expect to be there a little after the worst tourism rush so i hope i can find something my budget can expect.
Cheap i think might be around 100 Cad or hopefully less.
Plus i need to know what is the biggest and best store for buying a touring bike or touring equippment in Halifax. Is it cyclesmith?

Check out one of the universities. They open up the residences in the summer and run them as hostels. I stayed in one years ago right in Halifax, dirt cheap, clean, breakfast in the morning was included and I kept my bike in the room with me. I wish I could give you the name of the university but I can't for the life of me remember right now

There's Dalhousie and Saint Mary's right in the city, and Mount Saint Vincent but it is outside of the city core.

If I still lived there I'd offer to put you up for nothing. Unfortuanetly since I lived there I don't know many of the hotels very well but I've always heard good things about the King Edward Inn. You could also try cross posting on halifax locals, they're usually a good group who'll have a lot of opinions and I wouldn't be surprised if someone there offered to have you as a guest.
