Oshawa Cycling Club Tour
For anyone who has done the Scugog Circle Century Tour it is or will be a thing of the past. If you have riden it you know that it poses a few safety issue and was a fairly easy century. We are going to do it totally different this year. Likely starting in Brooklin then winding over towards Orono then more east yet into the hills of the moraine or ridges for awhile then drop down to the lake thru Newcastle and work the way over back to Brooklin. The old tour was getting stagnet and we are hoping this will revitalize it. It will be more of a workout and you could use it more as a training ride than the old one. It will be fun. I have done the route many times and it is doable by most standards, is tough in a few places, if anyone Starksville Hill you can attest. It will still be held on th esame weekend late in August so everyone should be bike fit by then. Hope to see some people from BF out there. See ya on the road.

Do you have a route map available? I've done the Scugog countless times in the past and any changes will be very interesting. Excited to see the new route.

I replied to your pm. If you've done the old one you will love this. Totally different, a lot more challanging and also it is going to be a charity ride. Route is still in the works as we've hit a snag. WE just had the route finallized with all the stops taking care of too....damn! Basically the ride will be all in Durham, Clarignton, with points of interest being Port Perry, Enniskilin, Hampton, Orono, Starkville Hill which is 1k long but averages over 12% grade with portions at 14%+. If we get thru Whitby red tape it will start and stop in Brooklin.

Does anyone have a GPX file of this ride yet. I thought that it would be nice to upload to my Garmin.
