Places to rent bikes near Union Station/Metro Convention Center?

Been to a local convention recently and was thinking of taking my bike downtown but witht he downtown bike crime I was thinking of renting a bike then taking my own beloved bike down. I'm thinking in advance right now as I would like to know all you downtown urbanites where all the bike rental shops are? How much does it cost to rent bikes? I'd prefer a bike not all yellow. A MTB bike works best with me.

Ideally within 1km of Union Station as that is where I get out of. My only thoughts on this is for riding around the downtown core to buy food while attending a local convention. I could drive downtown but parking in a PITA. It's like $2/30mins and some places I know to park without paying a small fortune or free are about 6-8 blocks away which sucks when you have to make it to events and if you run to and from the car you'll be sweating buckets.

Thanks in advance for the help.

There is a place right around the corner from Shoeless Joe's down on Queen's Quay; right south of the resto and just next to the water police unit HQ. Frankly. I don't think it's worth it if you're going to be downtown because I don't think you will need to do much riding for food.

I'd agree. The rentals are nothing special, and you would be walking past a couple of supermarkets on your way there anyway. And would you really want to lock a rental bike outside a downtown store. There's a Sobey's and a Loblaw at Queens Quay, both within easy walking distance of the convention center, if you want supermarkets, and St Lawrence Market is only a couple of notches further. And there are a million restaurants within easy reach.

Well I live in the Toronto but when at a con I like to make it to events to and from quickly inbetween when I want to go grab something to eat and make it back quickly without a worked up sweat you get from rushing while speed walking/jogging.
