Looking For Other Riders

I'm in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and am looking for other riders in the area. Seems any of my friends who are into biking just enjoy the odd short ride or to blast down a few single trails on mountain bikes on the weekends. I only know one or two friends that are into road biking and only because I fixed them up some old road bikes and I know no one in the area who likes touring (some will go camping and do day rides).

I am interested in
Vintage bikes, I restore them in my shop and ride quite a few
Road Biking, I do regular rides between 50-150km leisurely around the area
Touring, I do more camping and day trips due to lack of lightweight equipment but I do have one hell of a camping rig and like to set up on the Manitoulin for a few days and do a different ride each day.
Mountain Biking, More interested in longer rides where I can still ride fast and have some fun but can also stop for a snack and to take some photos than blasting down short single tracks all day.

Also into anything manpowered (canoeing, hiking, kayaking, running etc.)

At risk of this sounding like a personal ad  (don't think my wife would find that funny) I'm going to leave it at that. Let me know if anyone around here is from my area and interested in doing some rides or checking out some vintage rebuilds.

Hi. I pass through your town on a fairly regular basis. I'm a semi retired trucker who works 7 days on and 7 days off. I start out every second Wednesday, and my usual direction is north. Depending on my ultimate destination, and delivery schedule, I sometimes try to make it to Wawa or White River the first day, but more often than not, I stop at the Sault the first night.
I carry a bike with me when the snow disappears, and the temps rise a bit. So, if you want to go for an evening ride some time when the days get longer, maybe we could hook up.
But, it would only be for one of those short rides unfortunately.

It appears I scared off the OP. Perhaps he did not believe me?
Maybe this will convince him I wasn't BSing.

Sorry, been gone on a camping trip for a few days. Been enjoying the 5 feet of snow we still have on the ground. Send me a PM when you're heading up this way and hopefully even though the snow is going to be here a while the roads will be bare enough for some rides soon. How far do you typically ride in an evening?

Well, I usually don't ride too far because I start late. Generally, if I'm coming through town much earlier than 8:00 pm, I try to push through to Wawa or White river. When the chance arises, it's usually just a short one from the Husky on the east side out through the Garden River reservation and try to get back before it gets too dark.
This almost always happens on a Wednesday. I don't have access to the internet from the time I leave Toronto, so some day, if I think it's going to work out, I'll PM you my cell number and maybe we can hook up.
