Ingleside to Kingston - Waterfront Trail - All Asphalt?
Hi,
I've searched this forum and browsed the WT site but can't definitively determine if I can cycle on asphalt all the way from Ingleside ON to Kingston ON. Cycling through the odd community to stay on pavement isn't an issue; cycling on packed gravel is. I have decided after reading some of your comments to stay on the CDN side and not cycle through Cornwall and into the US to come up later through Cape Vincent. So thanks for that.
Can anyone help?
Phil

Yup, it's all asphalt. FWIW, paved shoulders are non-existent between Prescott and Brockville along Hwy#2; and typical token amount of paved shoulder between Ingleside and Prescott, and Ganonoque and Kingston. There's a nice bit of road off Hwy 2 (Lakeshore Dr.) between Morrisburg and just east of Iroquois. And there's the 1000 Island Parkway trail that has recently been resurfaced.
One thing to keep in mind is, I was told by a local when I was by there last, is that the employees end their shift at a big factory east of Brockville on the highway at 4 pm, so the traffic can get very heavy.
Hope that helps. Have fun!

I forgot to mention that there's a bike trail from Ingleside to the west, between Hwy 2 and the river, approximately 10km long. But Google maps shows that it's a dirt path...
