Where are the 2016 Haibike "SDURO Yamaha" mid-drive MTB's?

I was told the 2016 Haibike "SDURO Yamaha" mid-drive MTB's would be in the USA starting November 2015. Then told December 2015... Then Late december 2015... Then January 2016... Then at the end of January 2016... Well... It's now early February 2016 and I am not aware of any local (SoCal) USA arrivals yet.

Does anyone in the USA have the 2016 Haibike "SDURO Yamaha" mid-drive MTB's in stock yet?

Sam has a used Haibike XDURO HardNine RX Bosch that I believe is his personal bike. He still hasn't received any of his 2016 SDURO's ordered. I'm considering driving to San Diego at the end of the month for the Electric Bike Road Show (lol), but only if they have the two model Haibike SDURO's I want to see and ride. The waiting is becoming a pain in the arse. I went BBS02 because I got tired of the runaround and wanted to get exercsing again ASAP. By the time these ya-who's get their SDURO's over here, there will already be new battery technology that will warrant waiting... Frustrating!

These have been available in small numbers in New Zealand for about 12 months.
I recently bought a new SDURO Fullnine RC
Like it so much I am getting another for my wife.

Nice! What kind of "realistic" range are you getting out of it off road on full power? What is the battery watt hours?

I want to see, sit on and ride the SDURO AllMtn Plus and FullNine RX, both in the largest frame size available. Can't bring myself to order something so expensive without knowing exactly what I'm getting and if it actually fits and rides properly.

Were you able to get a discount off stated retail price? Thx.

NP; FYI, my wife rode the XDURO hardtail 29er up the Harding Truck Trail (8-9 mi, 3000-4000' elev gain) in about 40% turbo and assist of some sort all the time and used about 60% (indicated ) of the charge. Of course, nothing on the return, so 16-18 miles total, with something left in the tank. Oh yeah, 36V, 11 ah battery, so 400wh same as SDURO, I think.

Yes the electrical specs for SDURO are very similar to XDURO.

So the battery range should should also be similar.

The 2016 run of SDURO Fullnines here, have a front deurallia & run a second sprocket.

Retail on the SDURO Fullnine RC is just under 7k in NZ, while the RX is around 8k

I emailed several dealers for pricing but they where reluctantant to take much off, claiming their margins were too slim.

So you've got one and another on coming? What is "your" actual experience with range on your bike at the full pwoer setting?

We all know most claimed range numbers are way overstated. I'm curious if the Watt Hour / 20 is accurate for the Haibike Yamaha SDURO's. Guessing you get maybe 20 miles out of it for a +/-400Wh battery???

Yep, picking up another FullNine RC for my wife tomorrow. I think they are the best value of the range, for us anyway. We are older people so won't be doing anything too strenuous.
Haven’t given mine a good workout yet, but have a friend who has had one for a while.
He has clocked up over 6000k on his. He would only be using ECO & STD modes but has done up to 50k or 30 miles on about half battery. He is in his 70’s but is very fit. Does mainly track & trail.
Unless you are going up a steep hill you won’t need full power. I find if I keep the cadence/revs about 60 it will climb ok on STD. I just use ECO most of the time. The latest models also have ECO+ mode. To me this feels like riding a normal unpowered bike. Then if you use the off mode you will notice how much heavier the bikes are.
The power assist is restricted to 25k or 15 mph which is a bit of a pain if you are riding with someone else on a normal bike. You can go over that of course but you have to supply the power beyond that point. Feels like the brakes are on a bit.

Sorry about the small font on my last post.
I'm having problems typing directly into this forum. First post was ok but now I get about 4 words in, then it starts missing letters. When I try to correct, it says there is an error & restarts.
So I am having to type my post in a word processor & copy it into the forum. When I saw how small it had come out, I tried to change it but that wouldn't work either. Hopefully this will be better.

Rocky; noticed the same characteristic that you mention on the XDURO that I've been riding. The assist cuts off at 19 mph (USA), then it feels as though enormous extra effort is needed to accelerate past that speed, like you said "something holding you back (much more than the extra weight would suggest)". Any idea why? Still, I really like this bike and will purchase one soon.

I personally wouldn't buy any E-Bike that can't be ridden like a regular bike with the power off... JMO

Just so nobody gets the wrong idea, I was pedaling along a flat section at 23 mph yesterday, long after the assist had signed off, so it's not that you can't ride it without assist, just seems like it's holding back a little. The positives outweigh the negatives by a ton on this bike.

On the other hand, it's always easy to make negative comments about anything. JMO

I was commenting on that part of your statement... As I believe that is one thing that is a must, being able to ride the bike without assist...

350; good point; sorry; you're absolutely correct; totally my fault; guess that one day I may have been better than another. After three weeks of riding the bike daily, it seemed to hold back some, but not to the point where it would deter me from taking it on a long trip where I might run out of "fuel" or have a malfunction which would require pedaling home with no assist. "Normally", rode it with little assist on flats, little or none on slight downgrades or downhills, assist on ascents. Felt like I received a good workout, just went faster than usual. The point about the pedaling with no assist or where the assist cut out was more quizzical than a big problem since I didn't mind just traveling at 19 mph-low twenties. A little more surprising since my front geared hub doesn't seem to offer any extra resistance (other than weight) when ridden without "boost". Thanks for pointing that out.

OUCH! Those are some nasty prices... Where's the typical $500 to $1,500 discount sellers?

2016 Haibike SDURO AllMtn PLUS listed at $3,200, about $1,500 off retail.

Can't find a deal like that on the 2016 Haibike SDURO FullNine RX yet...

Rocky, did you have a chance to compare the XDURO and SDURO?
I rode an XDURO for three weeks and really enjoyed it, but would like to compare with SDURO off road. The XDURO was amazing (to me) in its capability on singletrack and technical ascents.

No, there are none that I know of in this area.
But I am told by someone who has, they are very similar.
Main difference being, the SDURO now have a front derailleur & a second drive gear.

Rocky, That second ring gives you a lot more flexibility, although I didn't have any problems with the single ring on the XDURO. The models of the "S" that I've seen were 250w, not 350 like the "X", but not sure that it matters with the same battery.

Here's a pretty good review:

https://www.e-bikeshop.co.uk/blog/po...ke-sduro-2015/

In my brief test of the two, the Yamaha seemd to engage quicker and smoother. I think it has an instant on feature when you push the pedal. Those dual front chain rings does make it more versatile. I seem to remember reading about a larger battery option too, but can't find that link.
