Bafang BBS02 + N360 Hub on Giant Revel 3?
I've been doing my research as best as I can and I think that this is the route that I'm going to go:
My wife has a Giant Revel 3 (2011) in which I would like to add a Bafang BBS02 and an N360 hub. My wife simply cannot grasp the concept of switching gears and she has a bad time with hills. There are almost zero streets without a hill in the region that I live in so, therefore, my wife cannot tolerate bicycling. We have never had fun on any bicycle trip we have ever went on because of these two factors. Will this setup work well together?
I have a Giant Revel 3 (2012) in which I would like to add a Bafang BBS02. I don't require the N360.
The biggest gripe that I have with mid-drives is that I lose the triple crank and revert to the single crankset. Now... since I have never experienced an ebike, perhaps it doesn't matter. I (mostly) only use the third crank on declines and the first crank on inclines. I just want to retain the ability to get a good workout. You know, pedaling your butt off up a hill until your legs are sore. Both of our bikes have a milk crate attached and mine has a hitch and a custom built trailer (made of bed frame - will soon remake with aluminum) so our bikes are definitely recreational; eg. camping, groceries, biking to friends and families, the beach, etc.
The specifications of both our bikes are in those links above; will my wifes setup with a BBS02 mid-drive + N360 hub and my setup of just a BBS02 work? Or do I also need to buy some other things, such as a different crank? I read something above the crank that comes with the BBS02 being terrible or something.
For anyone wondering why I haven't chosen the BBSHD, it's because I live in Canada and our laws only allow 500W. I heard the BBS02 is marked 500W on the device even though it's actually 750W, is this true? (I need the power - I often pull a trailer) I don't necessarily care about laws that much when the law is ignorant, but if 750W is all that I need then I might as well do it legally if the device is marked as 500W.
This is my main reason for wanting a motor:
The trailer, empty, weighs about 60lbs; I will be making a new one made of aluminum and adding sides, a back and front to form a box (something I couldn't do with bed frame - weighed about 75lbs before I even finished building sides) so that I can ditch the straps and the bin - kind of annoying to undo straps all the time.

I don't know how the new BBS02's are marked, but if designated for 36V, they are 500w. Shouldn't have any difficulty incorporating the 360 & BBS, but you'll have the added expense of the hub, rim, spokes and wheel build (unless you DIY). You won't have any problems ascending hills with the extra power of the motor, but you might want to get a smaller front ring, which will decrease your top speed, but provide more climbing power.
