Splicing LCD Cable

I want to reposition the LCD on my tadpole that will require splicing in about 10 inches of cable, but I don't want to cut into it until I know what I'm getting into. Would this be a 3-wire cable? What is a typical gauge used?

Thanks for any information!

What exactly is the cable you're cutting? Cable from sensor to bike computer (or cradle)? I think I damaged one, and it was simply a sheathed 2-wire cable, thin wire. I don't think it was shielded.

Something like phone wire would probably suffice.

Of course, another option is going wireless.

I prefer soldering splices, but there are may ways to do it. Heat Sleaving (shrink wrap)?

CliffordK, Thank you for the information. I'll check which cable it is but I'm pretty sure it is from the sensor.
