Protecting my $2,000 investment - bike locks

Hello

Still doing a lot of research. On my Schwinn Skyliner I use a cable style lock made by Bell and it works well. I'm upgrading to a Schwinn Continental soon and have been researching bike locks. Heres my plan. I want to use two locks which would have to be defeated with two different specialized tools. The idea is to make it such a pain that no thief is going to waste time. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd like something that does the job and won't scratch the paint with normal use.

To give you an example, maybe a cable style lock and also the oversized padlock style? One good thing, I just remembered my complex has a security guy on a go cart that continuously monitors the premises. I am doing research on my own as well with the Search feature in the forum.

PunkMartyr, I'm in the same boat. I do a lot of research too. I'm interested in the Veloteq Cavalier RSV ebike (http://smartscooters.ca). It has a digital rear wheel and motor lock and I have a Krytonite U lock with the cable, I use for the mountian bike. I'm wondering if this will be enough for my investment. I've had 2 mountain bikes stolen. Both had good locks on them.

That applies.

I'm in a low crime area, with the XtraLite I'm using a beefy OnGuard padlock and heavy duty chain that is supposed to hold up for a few moments in NYC.
On my Salsa, my daily commuter, I'm using a small high rated D-lock and thick cable.

I'm going for a loud voice (on a chip) that begins a count-down from ten. At five, the vehicle begins to emit smoke <grin>
I live in the bike theft capital of North America.
tks
