Has anyone tried the E-V Sunny?

I accidentally ran across this bike while searching for some old-school wheel covers for polo (to prevent mallet induced spoke snapping).

I'm not really into electric, but a quick search of the forum didn't turn up any matches for this one, so I thought I'd ask. Has anyone tried it? Does it work? This picture looks a little too clean, I don't see wires or anything, but they could be run along the far side of the frame, or internally I guess.

Let me know what you think.

I can't imagine the wheels would charge well when the bike is being ridden, as they'd be at an off angle to the sun.

That's about my take on it as well. Seems hardly worth the trouble until solar collectors become way, way, way more efficient.Kind of like batteries... so maybe it's not such a bad idea. But is it me or should it cost more than it does. Something smells.

I'm not sure if it's cheap or not, having never looked at e-bikes. but the bike ($1295) seems to be sold seperately from the "kit" ($795), but they are sold by the same company, so it's your 1 stop shopping experience. So it kind of appears that the combined price is closer to $2100. Is that cheap for an e-bike?

Or perhaps the $1295 is for the whole e-bike, and if you want to add a kit to an existing bike it'll start you out at $795. It wasn't crystal clear to me.
