Looks like an Xtracycle/Big dummy clone. Having the ability to stuff 2 sets of panniers on the rear looks nice, but it doesn't look like you could carry as much though, and the bags are a lot higher up. From the look of it, wouldn't get the same even weight distribution either.

Edit: Oh, I just looked at the price though! I think the Big Dummy frame costs that much alone, nevermind actually putting that level of componentry on the bike and then buying the Xtracycle bags. Doesn't look like its quite the same level of workhorse, but its more than the average bike offers, and the price is attractive indeed. Looks good. I wonder how having the second set of panniers so far behind the rear axle would affect the handling though, when the rider is closer to the rear wheel than on the X?

Thanks for posting this. I was seriously considering the Big Dummy, but i'll be researching this bike as well now.

At least it's gotta front disc! That's always a good place to start for an eBike.

Well, I just went back and did some more looking around on the UTE. Originally they stated it would be a 26" tire build with a 4130 frame. Now its 700c and aluminum, and i'm thinking this bike isn't as hot as stated. Its basically a normal city bike with a bigger rack, something you can simply accomplish with a front rack. 700c wheels aren't as strong as 26" wheels comparatively, and the aluminum isn't going to stand up to what a good steel setup will. Its hardly a weak looking bike, but i'd put its strength at "touring" rather than "all out hauler"

In fact, i'd probably rather go steel/removable racks. You can weld, bend and/or replace steel parts and racks. All it would take is overloading the UTE once or pinching the tubular aluminum by accident..

In reality, you could probably do just as well with any old 4130 frame and a front rack as you could with the UTE. I think they missed the mark with this one.
