2009 eZip Trailz LS ... Cruiseified!
Got a 2009 eZip Trailz LS (Low Step).
Turned it into my "Comfort Cruiser".
Added my "homemade" 25.9V 31.2Ah Li-ion battery pack.
Regeared from a 20T to a 16T motor side wheel sprocket.
This moved it up to a near 20mph cruising speed.
For comfort:
2.125" comfort Whitewalls
Suspension post
Big comfy seat
Economy test run provided almost 50 miles at 16mph ... motor only!

Here's a pic of my latest creation. It is a Motobecane Gran Turismo (essentially a Trek 520 copy) that I converted.
It is a great improvement over my last creation. Here are the specs:
24V/30ah LiFePo4 battery pack
24v/900w Currie motor w/15 tooth freewheel sprocket
90t #25 drive gear/sprocket
I don't know what other specs to post. This bike is really fast. Way faster than my Bianchi converson. I can hit 28mph on a flat, have hit 32.2 on a slight down, 25 is easy and it powers up most hills at about 17 mph. It is awesome. I love it.
I haven't tested the range yet but was able to go 11 miles on all electric and still registered 26.2V on the pack (not a good indication since lithium has a steep dropoff at the end).

Hi all. I'm new to these parts. I just bought a Stromer ST1 Elite e-bike yesterday. It's all pedelec, so more cardio than I was expecting or prepared for, but it was a blast. I'm new to the world of e-bikes (well bikes in general), but this will be my new commuter bike. Six miles of hills to work, and then six miles back. Totally easy with this bike...

Great bike RobotCruncher, I saw a video on Youtube by Stromer where they said that a thumb throttle is available as an option for that bike, I have pedelec & thumb throttle but use the thumb throttle mode exclusivly..anyhoo..good luck nice wheels.

Here's my recently built Jamis Commuter with a 36v bottle battery and a Q100 328rpm front hub and 700c wheels. Total weight with electrics is 41lb. The bike tops out at about 22mph and is whisper quiet.

Here's my latest creation. It is a Motobecane Gran Turismo with a 24V, 900 W motor (mid mounted so all gears can be used with the motor), 24V, 30ah LiFePO4 Pack mounted in a Falcon EV triangle bag. This baby flies. I've had it up to 34.8mph and it easily attains 28mph with my fat 225lb butt on it (top speed appears to be limited by wind resistance as it was attained in only fourth gear but switching to fifth actually caused speed to decrease). Love this bike!!!

DIY Kona E-Bike
Here is my DIY ebike. Made from a Kona Stinky Deluxe 2006. I run it on 18s lipo for 75 volts fully charged. With a 45 AMP modified controller.
Because the motor is mid mounted and linked to the chainrings of my pedals. I get to use my 6 speeds with the motor

[QUOTE=cerewa;5711068]Putting an electric motor on my bike has almost turned it in to my dream bike. (of course, I'm always dreaming about improvements-- I'd love to replace it with a weatherproof velomobile and get a more powerful motor some day... and add more "plug in and go" convenience).
You are really a clever man.I'd like your bike very much.I had ever thought about how to install an electric bike kit by myself, but never done it.Really good job

Specialized were kind enough to give us one of these for a few weeks to coincide with our opening. It's AMAZING!
