need some advice

i have a wilderness motor kit 24v that i am overvolting to 36v with no problems the bats are sla and i am looking to go to nimh pack tenergy has one listed at 36v 4200 mah will this work the motor is 400 w the controller to my knowledge is limited to 10a thanks

I'm no expert either, but I'm currently over volting my beater commuter bike without a problem. 4200mah is I believe 4.2 ah and is at least half of what you probably already have and need. You can put 2 batteries in parralel and get 8.4 ah. Imagine the extra weight! The 10 amp controller will probably be fine, but as I say I'm not an expert I just over-juice my hub and I've had no problem.
